I just love my KBD Kaizer and look forward to hearing about any KBD related news, or to chat with anyone else who loves their KBD.

Glad to see that you are keeping people informed regarding our favorite breed, their characteristics and needs. Without the guidance and information you gave us, we probably would not have been able to raise two happy KBDs. It takes a lot of running room, training, love, and energy, but they are so worth it!

Hallo!
last year early September 2008, a two months old KBD (male) named "BALTO" (dell' AMORETTO") joined our family, born in the Ligurian mountains (Maritime Alps) approx 600 metres over the sea level, deep in the wood rich of wild animals, at the small village of Magliolo (Savona-Italy) approx. km. 5 from the sea. A fantastic new friend, wonderful alfa but easy character, strong, wood-lover, willing to play for hours with other dogs. This web site is really nice, best compliments to administrators and to the KBD owners family.

Nice to see this amazing breed that is like no other finally getting tribute paid to it. They are very inteligent and fun loving creatures. Although need alot of time and attention as well as excercise. A true gem of mother nature.

Hello Gail,
It's Karen, your old puppy obedience trainer who moved away & got married. (notice the name change)
I am so proud of the work you"re doing, educating people about the breed you so dearly love! Kuddos to you! Awesome website. Glad you are doing so well and so involved with the sport of dogs. I am still showing and training some. (Teaching school these days...i do miss my canine students though) Take Care! Peace......karen in Georgetown Colorado

What a great site. Very informative. I am an experienced Akita owner, and I appreciate all of the native Japanese spitz type dogs, and I am not put off by their independent attitude. But I knew nothing of the KBD until I saw your sight. They are absolutely fascinating dogs. I will keep up with your site to stay informed about this wonderful breed.

I knew nothing about Karelian bear dogs before my husband and I became the proud parents of our beautiful pair, Artemis and Orion, three years ago. Although they are probably not "purebred" by your standards, they are karelian bear dogs through and through---great hunters, strong-willed, independent and absolutly beautiful. And I would not trade my "mutts" for anything in the world.

Thanks for doing such a great job on this site! It was particularly helpful to have both the KBD and REL descriptions to review side by side.

I will bookmark this site and await more pictures and more information soon!

Hi and thanks for the site. We are working to become familar with the breed to determine if us and our two home environments would be compatible with the breed.

Another great website, Gail! Your advocacy for KBDs is admirable and your message is clear! I am so very grateful that I found your kennel (and our lovely Tahti) before buying a KBD from some other breeder. We know we have the best, a true KBD, not a mix. And with Surri, from Hanne Larsen in Denmark, we have added quality to quality. Thanks so much for all that you do!
