Chico and Roxanne
Roxanne She bound out to meet us at just 8 weeks old, Ears flapping in the wind, fur the color of gold She chewed almost everything, she made messes galore, But it didn't take long to simply adore This wonderful dog who loved everyone, Who filled our lives with joy and fun She loved her walks in the sun everyday, She loved when the children wanted to play She loved to get a big belly rub She licked our noses to show us her love And even though she slowed down with time, She acted like a puppy and her eyes would still shine She was with us for 15 years, And now, even though we cry tender tears, We will remember her like a sweet song For love never ends when a memory lives on.
Chico
He was just a little fur ball the day we first met The perfect puppy, our family's new pet He looked like a stuffed animal and was spoiled from the start And Roxanee loved him so, they were never apart. He played with our sons and took walks with their dad And you would think a bisquit was the best food he ever had, Begging was one of the things he did best, If you looked at those eyes, you had to say yes! But alas time must pass and pets do grow old, And suddenly you find its time to let go So now we have said our good byes with our tears, He was part of our family for so many years. And so we will miss him, His memory lives on, But I know Roxanee will meet him and say, "What took you so long?" written by Linda Sala
