Briagha joined us at Lochcairn in September 2008. She was born on July 1, 2008, a good day for all Canadians, for those of you who do not know July 1st is Canada Day. She came from Kathy and Ray Harrington in Pennsylvania. She has filled our days with lots of laughs. She has to be the cuddliest Beardie I have ever met. She certainly has fit in well around here joining the other Beardies on hikes and dips in the lake. Briagha started her Canadian show career on May 2nd, 2009 and on her second day out she went Best of Winners and Best Puppy in Breed. This gave her the first two points. She then went on to win the Puppy Herding Group. She finished her Championship five show weekends later taking Best Of Breed, Best Puppy in Breed and Best Puppy in Herding Group. She was expertly groomed and shown by Jaimie St. Maurice.
News Flash On Briagha's Shows
Briagha continued her show career on August 13/09.
She went to the Bearded Collie Club Of Canada's National Show in Quebec. She won Best Of Opposite Sex. This was a wonderful accomplishment for such a young dog, she was thirteen months at the time.
Another honor for Briagha
On August 11/10 at the Bearded Collie Club of Canada's Annual Awards Banquet, Briagha was awarded the honor of being the Top B.O.S. ( Best of Opposite Sex ) Bearded Collie in Canada for 2009. This is a wonderful honor and we couldn't be more proud of our special girl. I have put a picture of Briagha at the 2010 BCCC National at the bottom of this page.
Briagha in the U.S.
Ray Harrington, Briagha's breeder showed her to her U.S. Championship. They started in Kansas on Sept.29/10 and by Nov.21/10 she had her championship. Part of her journey to her U.S. title was the Bearded Collie Club of America's National Show in Colorado where Briagha won her Open Class and then went on to win RWB ( Reserve Winners Bitch ) with a total entry of over 50 females. She finished her U.S. title with a bang in North Carolina. Ray took Briagha to the Regional Specialty in North Carolina where she won WB ( Winners Bitch ), her mom won BOB ( Best Of Breed ) from the Veteran's class and her sister took an AOM ( Award of Merit ). That weekend Briagha went on to take a RWB, and two BOW ( Best Of Winners ) . She finished with three majors on the one weekend. It was quite the adventure and Briagha had a good time. I can not thank Ray enough for taking this journey with Briagha. She was expertly groomed and shown perfectly to her full potential. I am planning on breeding Briagha late in 2011 or early in the New Year (2012).
