The Maniototo Rugby Club
was
established in 1998 after the amalgamation of the Gimmerburn Patearoa and Ranfurly Clubs. The Maniototo name better describes the locality of the player base. The blue and red colours of the rugby jersey have the history of the amalgamated clubs, the Ranfurly crest is still worn. Practices and matches are played in Ranfurly at Maniototo Park unless ground conditions require a shift to Gimmerburn.This year the Maniototo Club has only a Premier Team.. In March 2002 new clubrooms of which we are very proud, were officially opened. The Maniototo Plain is situated in the heart of Central Otago..
