We recieved good news from Russia that "Toni" Mossbawnhill Celtic Legacy was BPIB again at the regional dog show in Rostov-na-Don on the 5th of October under Judge Hachaturyan where he was handled by co-owner Julia Eliseeva.
Toni has done extremely well for his owners Natalia Malyarenko & Julia Eliseeva and they are very proud of him,as are we.
Keep up the great work!! And WELL DONE! to all concerned.
We have a beautiful young whippet male (neutered, microchipped & fully vaccinated) looking for a lovely pet/companion home,he has the most wonderful temperament & gets on well with every one and every dog he meets,he really is such a softie & is a quiet dog but please bear in mind he is still young & will need a certain amount of exercise to let off some steam but he just loves playing ball & will quite happily tire himself out running after the ball all day if you let him! We would prefer he went to a home who already has a whippet (or two!) or even a greyhound or lurcher as he just adores to run alongside our dogs and as he is really fast he needs a dog that can keep up with him!!! He is fully housetrained,a good traveller and is also crate trained too.
So if you think you might be able to offer the right home for him or know of someone who has a spare space on their sofa for him, please contact me through my "contact" page.
We were really pleased with our results at our Northern Ireland Whippet Club show on Sunday 28th Sept 08 under judge Mrs Jean Shaw of the Lowglen Kennel in England. "Timber" Mossbawnhill Exclusive gained his Stud Bk No by getting a 3rd in the Limit Class in a respectable class of seven.
Timber also won the members class..so he did us proud that day!!
Pic below.....
On Saturday 27th Sept 08 at Belfast Ch Show under Jill Chapman both "Cedar" Mossbawnhill Better Son & "Damson" Mossbawnhill Smoth As Silk For Rushden qualified for Crufts 09 by getting a 3rd & 2nd in PD & PB respectively. They both actually went on to double the qualification the following day at our breed club Ch show under Jean Shaw by Cedar getting a 1st this time in the MPD class & Damson again getting a 2nd but in the MPB class instead of the PB class.
Below are a few pics taken by "Pauline Oliver" of "Finn" M.Cast No Shadow who took the DCC & RBIS at EAWC Ch Show under Sharon Sakson (US)
We have great news to report after coming back from our "Circuit" shows we now have two new Ch's......(Subject to IKC approval)
Ir Ch Mossbawnhill Better Man & Ir Ch Mossbawnhill It's All Bout Me
Both dogs are homebred.
Actually "Mossbawnhill" has had a fantastic week (15th ~ 23rd August) firstly on the 15th at the Welsh KC Ch Show "Ridge" M.Better Boy at Ribblesmere owner handled by Jean Dickenson was 2nd in the MPD class under Ben Reynold's-Frost (UK),this qualifies him for Crufts 09.Then on the 17th"Damson" M.Smooth As Silk For Rushden owned by Janet Duke & Tracy Gill & handled by Tracy went BPIS at Clonmel Int Ch Show under Mr I Selimovic (Croatia) after winning Puppy Hound Grp 10 under Mr J Matyas (Slovakia),she took BPIB under breed judge Mr T Nesbitt (Canada). At the same show & under the same breed judge "Timber" M. Exclusive (CJW 08) got the GS & CACIB in dogs & "Dale" M.Better Bet owned and handled by Tony Ennis was BP dog. The same day in England at East Of England Whippet Club Ch Show "Finn" M.Cast No Shadow owner handled by Chris Martin got his first CC & finished RBIS under well known whippet breed specialist Sharon Sakson (US) her affix is "Paris". Two days later on the 19th "Pebble" M.It's All Bout Me handled as always by Ryan took her title at Killarney Ch Show under another breed specialist Mr George Kostopolous (Greece) his affix is "Allsatin",at this show Pebble went on to win Hound Grp 10 under Mr D Allen (UK/Spain) & finished in style by going BIS 4th under Mrs M Supranovich (Pol),we also took the Res GS in dogs that day with "Badger" M.Better Man who is handled by me (Pamela) and 3rd in the Puppy Dog Stakes with "Cedar" M.Better Son handled by Ryan again under Mrs M Supranovich. On the 23rd at Limerick Ch Show we managed to "finish" "Badger" again under another breed specialist Mr Unto Timonen this time from Finland and the famous "Woodbrook's" kennel, we did "the double" at this show where "Pebble" took GS bitch & "Badger" GS dog & BOB,our young puppy bitch "Damson" who is owned by Janet & Tracy (mentioned previously above) took the Res GS,so this was a super day for Mossbawnhill! On the last day at Tralee Ch Show we faired quite well in the Puppy Stakes both dog & bitch and both judged by Mrs Desserne (Fr) "Cedar" was shortlisted in the dog classes to the last four & made the final & "Sorrel" M.Envy Me handled by me was shortlisted too in the final four of the bitch stakes & then ended up 6th overall.
Phew...what a week!!!
Our thanks goes to all the judges who have appreciated our dogs & think as highly of them as we do & also to the owners who campaign them so well worldwide!!
WOW
!! this is more GREAT NEWS from Finland!
Today (09/08/08) under judge Libusa Ubrova (Chezh Republic) "Fallow" Mossbawnhill Dream On (Fin JW 07) owner handled by Aino Makela got her 7th CAC & another CACIB,she topped it by going BOB!!
Aino & "Fallow" are now going to have a short well deserved rest until Oct,when they will be back to claim "Fallow's" last crowning CAC because in Finland a dog cannot attain his/her title until they are 2yrs of age & this wont be until after the 27th Oct for "Fallow".
Enjoy your break!
We aso recieved two beautiful pics today (7th August 08) of "Dale" M.Better Bet & his litter sister "Squirrel" M.Made You Look who are owned by Tony Ennis and are hoping to make their debuts in the ring very soon. We are extremely happy with how this litter have turned out & wish all their new owners the very best with them both in and out of the rings!!
"Squirrel" M.Made You Look
Today (7th August 08) we received some really lovely pics of "Clay" M.Masterpiece very kindly taken by Heinz Knoche. These pics are of Clay & Daniela winning the CAC the previous weekend (details given below).
We had a super time too this weekend (see below for the other Mossbawnhill dogs results) at Dun Laoghaire Int Ch Show (Ire) on 3rd August 08 "Pebble" M.It's All Bout Me who is "Fallow's" litter sister won IB class & then took her 6th GS & also the CACIB under Mr Steven Seymour (Aus)...she is now in the same situation as "Badger" M.Better Man ~ chasing the last GS to give them their titles! "Badger took the Res GS & also the Res CACIB and both"Damson" M.Smooth As Silk For Rushden & "Cedar" M.Better Son were 1st in the PB & PD classes respectively and "Cedar" then went on to win BPIB & also BPIG. "Sorrel" M.Envy Me was 2nd in PB to her sister & "Timber" M.Exclusive (CJW 08) won ID class.
Meanwhile at the Houndshow in England "Finn" M.Cast No Shadow owned & handled by Chris Martin is still getting consistently placed as he was 2nd in MidLD in a class of 12 under Jenny Dove (UK)
So all in all along with "Fallow's" ,"Damson's & "Clay's" wins,"Finn's" placing & our own results the Mossbawnhill's have done quite well this weekend!!
A BIG THANKYOU to everyone who campaigns them so well for us (you know who you all are) .
Below are a couple of pics from our show.
M.Better Man "Badger" winning Res GS & Res CACIB

CONGRATULATIONS!!
to Daniela & "Clay" M. Masterpiece who took a 2nd CAC VDH (Germany) on Saturday 2nd August 08 at Donau Eschingen under Mrs T Comerfort (Aus)
This litter have been extra special as all five of them are being shown and between them have accumulated the equivalent of 19 CC's & they are'nt yet two yr old!!!
ANOTHER SUPER WEEKEND FOR AINO & "FALLOW" M. Dream On (Fin JW 07)
CONGRATULATIONS
...Again! to this pair as they add another two more CAC's to their ever growing pile!! Both CAC's were at Kuopio Int Show where they had a two day show with a different judge for each day,the first CAC of the weekend on Fri 1st August 08 was under August De Wilde (Belgium) & the second one the following day Saturday 2nd was under George Kostopoulos (Greece) he is a Hound Specialist from the "Allsatin" Afghan & Whippet kennel.
This brings "Fallow's" total to 6 CAC's!
WELL DONE!!
We got great news from Russia today...M. Celtic Legacy "Gareth" went Best Puppy In Breed & then Best Puppy In Show at the"Samara Summer-2008" show under Mr Gorbachevsky (Russia) on Sunday 27th July 08 he was handled by Julia Eliseeva who co-owns him with her sister Natalia Malyarenko of the "Volzhskaya Serenada" kennel, this was Gareth's very first show so we hope that this is just a taste of things to come.
CONGRATULATIONS! Julia,Natalia & of course Gareth!!
A lovely head study taken at the show is pictured below.....
At the Corgi Club's summer match & BBQ held on Wednesday evening 24th July 08 "Damson" M.Smooth As Silk for Rushden went Best Puppy In Match & also Best In Match beating the adult dogs too!
WELL DONE to Janet,Tracy & Damson!! Keep up the good work.
We learned today (20th July 08) that Mossbawnhill's Better Boy "Ridge" was 1st in Puppy dog/bitch out of 8 entries and then went on to get BPIB this was at Oswestry Open Show under Jo Keenan (Citycroft) (UK) it was only Ridge's second time out and he was owner handled by Jean Dickenson (Ribblesmere) & we are very pleased for them both.
CONGRATULATIONS!!
Picture below....
Aino & "Fallow" Mossbawnhill Dream On (Fin JW 07) are still managing to continue to appeal to the Judges eye as yesterday at Ylivieska Int Ch Show in Finland under Paula Heikkinen-Lehkonen (Fin) she was 3rd Best Bitch with an Exc and Res-CAC.
WELL DONE Again!!
Mossbawnhill's Better Boy "Ridge" owner handled by Jean Dickenson (Ribblesmere) made his debut at the East Of England Ch Show (15th July 08) he did very well and managed to get a VHC placing in the MPD class under Pat Dufty of the Triken Kennel (UK). WELL DONE to you both Jean & Ridge!!
This litter have surprised us as although they have an almost totally 100% American pedigree they are definitely going to be well within the height guidelines set down by the English KC (in fact they look set to be the smallest whippets that we have bred to date!) they are also quite immature and that is something that both Ryan & myself like to see in the Minor Puppy classes as very often a lot of breeders are turning out babies that look like Juniors or older & are finished well before they are a year old.
WOW!! What a weekend this pair are having! HUGE CONGRATULATIONS must go to Aino & "Fallow" M.Dream On (Fin JW 07) who have managed to take another CAC today (13th July 08) this follows fast on the heels of their CAC yesterday.
Today's show was Oulu All Breeds and Fallow was owner handled as always by Aino Makela the Judge was Monique Van Brempt (Belg) & along with the CAC Fallow also went BOB and then under Grp 10 Judge Lars Adeheimer (Swed) she took BIG 4, this has been quite a weekend for the pair and we are thrilled for them...keep up the good work girls & THANKYOU for flying the "Mossbawnhill Flag" in Finland so well for us!!
We said goodbye to "Mink" Mossbawnhill Irresistible today (13th July 08) she will remain in N.Ireland and has gone to a super home with Keith & Lois and their two cats,we wish them lots of luck for the future.
We are thrilled to learn today (12th July 08) that "Fallow" Mossbawnhill Dream On (Fin JW 07) was 2nd Best Bitch, took another CAC & Res CACIB at Oulu International Show (Finland) under judge Lars Adeheimer (Sweden) this actually gives her enough to be a Finnish & Norwegian Ch but unfortuantely the rules over there state that one CAC must be gained after the dogs 2nd birthday so she will have to wait until after the 27th October to claim her final CAC & crown!
This super team also won the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa District Junior Handling Championships judged by Rob Douma (Neth)
Many CONGRATS to you both girls,it is well deserved!!
We have had it confirmed today (11th July 08) that "Gareth" Mossbawnhill Celtic Legacy has finally arrived in his new home in Russia with Natalia Malyarenko & Julia Eliseeva of the "Pozhar v Kremle Intriga Teadora" kennel. Below are a few pictures of him...as you can see he took the whole thing in his stride!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Natalia & Julia for offering Gareth such a super home & wish them all the very best with him and hope that he becomes quite a "legacy" for them in the future.
At the Whippet Club Of Ireland's Ch Show held on 5th July 08 under Judge Mrs Jennifer North-Row (Barmaud) from the UK "Damson" Mossbawnhill Smooth As Silk For Rushden owner handled by Tracy Gill beat her litter sister "Sorrel" Mossbawnhill Envy Me in the Baby PB class, she then went on to also beat her brother "Cedar" Mossbawnhill Better Son for Best Baby Puppy in Show!
A big CONGRATULATIONS!! to Janet,Tracy and of course Damson as this was her very first show.

Today (1st July) we received this lovely picture of "Fallow" M.Dream On (Fin JW 07) (right of the pic) from her owner Aino Makela in Finland. It was taken by Heidi Ollila at the Mustiala Sighthound Speciality where Fallow went BOS,also included in the pic is BOB Ch Forget Me Not Flying Star who ended up BIS!
The same day as Fallow won her CC in Finland (28/06/08) "Pebble" M.It's All Bout Me was awarded the Green Star at Kilkenny Ch Show under judge Diane Ritchie (N.Ire),this brings Pebble up to 5 GS's,so she only needs another 2 to gain her title!........Fingers crossed then!!
Today (28/06/08) we heard that "Fallow" Mossbawnhill Dream On (Fin JW 07) won her class with EXC,was Best Bitch, took another CC & also was BOS,this was at the Mustiala Sighthound Speciality Ch Show in Finland under judge Paula Bockman-Chato (Australia),she was expertly steered to her wins by owner/handler Aino Makela and the pair also managed to go BIS Junior Handler too! We have more good news from Switzerland where on the 31st May 08 Mossbawnhill Masterpiece "Clay" was Exc 1st with the CAC from the Open class at Rifferswil under Judge Gunther Ehrenreich (Austria),he was owner handled by Daniela Zingg-Bucher....Congratulations & keep up the good work!!
I have just received great news from Switzerland, today at a Ch Show in Bermatingen in Germany under Judge Mr Olaf Knauber (Ger) "Clay" Mossbawnhill Masterpiece won the Open Class with an EXC 1 & CAC (CC) VDH,he was owner handled by Daniela Zingg-Bucher & we are very proud of them both!!
Below are a couple of pics of him.
We had quite a successful "Mini Circuit" this year as "Timber" M.Exclusive gained another GS,this makes his count 4 & equals his sister's "Pebble" M.It's All Bout Me,he also took BOB & 4th in Grp 10. Unfortunately his sister had to be withdrawn as she was lame.We are very pleased with how these two have been doing since they made their debuts last year, they are just over halfway to their "titles" and are only 18mths old.
For our full results from these three shows please check in on the results page.
We were made extremely proud by our lovely senior boy "Moss" who yesterday (27th April 08) at the Northern Ireland Working Whippet Club Show won his heat and then went on to win overall in the whippet racing...we had'nt raced him since he was in his prime at 3 yrs old but decided to bring him out of retirement one last time as he enjoys it so much,he has now returned to his comfy sofa!! He also managed to get a 2nd place in the "working type" show class too! Incidently Moss is almost 9 YRS OLD!! and had to beat dogs less than half his age,so not bad going for an old timer.
And "Teazel" Mossbawnhill Turn Up The Sun also won her heat (kinda by default,as she was the only one to finish!! LOL) and was 3rd in the final. But we were still pleased with this as she has never chased a lure before.
Today..(26th April 08) we heard that Mossbawnhill Dream On (Fin JW 07) "Fallow" took another Res CC (Res CAC) & also another Res-CACIB plus went 3rd Best Bitch, this was under Ove Germundson (Swed)
Congratulations again girls!!
We received some wonderful news and new pics from Daniela Zingg-Bucher (Druantia's Kennels) who owns M.Masterpiece "Clay" out in Switzerland...firstly Clay has achieved his Stud Certificate which means that he has passed the requirements that the Swiss KC say that all dogs must meet to be bred on from and secondly he has also attained his coursing license and Sunday (13th April 08) ran his first official course.(picture below)
CONGRATULATIONS Daniela & Clay!!

WELL DONE to all concerned!!
Today (12th April 08) M's.Made You Look "Squirrel" & M's.Better Bet "Dale" went to their new show home in Ireland with Tony Ennis, they will have a super life there as Tony works with the young horses at Charlie Swan's yard and so it will seem like home from home to the pups, they will also be joining Tony's other two whippets and will enjoy going to work with thier new dad. We hope to see them in the ring later in the year and wish Tony and them the very best of luck for the future.
We are extremely happy to annouce that both Drift (Ir Ch Zordia's Shooting Star Over M. (An Ch 07)) and Timber (M.Exclusive) attained the titles of Celtic Winner for Drift and Celtic Junior Winner for Timber at yesterday's IKC St Patrick's Day Speciality Show (17th Mar 08) Drift also went BOB and then topped it off by going Grp 2 in what is an extremely large & difficult Grp to get placed in!!
This lovely picture of M.Supersonic "Beau" & Anita on the move was taken at Crufts 08.
This year as we have the litter on the ground we decided not to exhibit at Crufts ourselves,so I flew over to stay with a close friend (Anita from the Yialousa Kennel who owns Beau & Ash "M. Supersonic" & "M.Ltd Edition") and then went with Anita as her "helper" and also to spectate. There were however four Mossbawnhills being shown..."Supersonic","Ltd Edition","Cast No Shadow" & "She's Eleqtric" unfortunately Ash (Ltd Edition) & Beau (Supersonic) were not to the judges liking this time but Finn (Cast No Shadow) was shortlisted in his PG class of 18 entries and Ellie (She's Eleqtric) was 3rd in her PG class of 17 entries.Well Done to all concerned!
At the same time we also got sent this lovely picture (below) of M.Ltd Edition To Yialousa "Ash" also taken by Pauline Oliver."Ash is owned and handled also by Anita Mixides.
This beautiful picture (below) of M.Supersonic At Yialousa "Beau" taken by Pauline Oliver was sent to us by his owner/handler Anita Mixides...we think he looks stunning in it,but you can make your own minds up.

It's All Bout Me "Pebble" took her fourth Green Star along with BOB & Grp 2...this means she has only another three GS's to get to gain her title. She was handled as usual by Ryan.
We got a nice surprise through the post last Wednesday (20th Feb 08) "Drift" our Basenji gained the title of Annual Champion 07!!
He will only be be lightly shown this year at Int CACIB shows to try and gain his Int title as he is already an Ir Ch.
The following day in Finland (Sunday 27th Jan 08) M.Dream On "Fallow" took her 2nd RCC after winning 1st with an Exc in Junior Class under Espen Engh (Jet...Nor).This team of Aino & Fallow have also really impressed us with their consistency in the rings.WELL DONE girls!!
On Saturday 26th Jan 08 at The Whippet Club Limited Show under Jessie Addison (Rowangarth...UK) M.She's Eleqtric At Salatini "Ellie" owner handled by Nikki Hunter won 1st OB and then went on to get Reserve Best Bitch! We are extremely proud of how consistently Ells and Nik are winning!! Also at the same show M.Ltd Edition "Ash" was again owner handled but by Anita Mixides to 2nd place in a very large Junior Bitch class,a big THANKYOU goes out to these two for keeping the Mossbawnhill Flag flying in England!
Below is a picture of Ellie & Nik in the bitch line up. Photo...Pauline Oliver 08
"Rush" (Druantia's Celtic Flight To Mossbawnhill) safely whelped her lovely litter of 10 pups on Thurs 9th Jan,they were 5/6 days early but are all doing really well as is mum.Dad is our own homebred boy "Badger" (Mossbawnhill Better Man),the litter have an almost entirely American/Continental pedigree,so we are very excited about them. A big WELL DONE to Rush who was a star and took it all in her stride!
Today (8th Dec 07) Fallow gained her first title under Age Gjetnes (Nor),she is now Finnish Junior Winner 2007! This was especially sweet for me today as it is my birthday,so thanks for a great present! We are so proud of both her and Aino, her owner. A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to you both and also to Salla who expertly handled her as Aino was stewarding in one of the other rings.
The same weekend that Fallow went Junior BOB we travelled over to England to a Whippet Breed Show where M.It's All Bout Me "Pebble" was entered into a Limit Bitch class for the very first time, she is only 13mths and usually the bitches in this class would be adults but we felt that she could cope okay...how right we were! Pebble was 3rd out of an entry of 37 other bitches who were all older than her,Frank Kane (UK) was the judge and he thought that she would go far as she matured. We were extremely happy with this result and it made the long journey well worthwhile!!
At the weekend (Nov 17th/18th 07) in Finland under Jill Peak (UK) M.Dream On "Fallow" was handled by her owner Aino Makela to a very respectable class win with an Exc and then on to Junior BOB out of 20 whippets. We are very pleased with how this young lady is doing for her owner and wish them continuing success! WELL DONE to you both.
At NWA Open Show on the 4th Nov 07 under Judge Claire Rishworth (UK) Mossbawnhill She's Eleqtric At Salatini (Ellie) won Open Bitch then took Best Bitch and topped it all off with going BIS!! Many Congratulations to Nik and of course Ellie herself!
At Seinajoki (Finland) under Robert Paust (USA) on the 21st Oct 07 Mossbawnhill Dream On (Fallow) took a RCC,this followed on the heels of her first CC gained earlier this month. Congratulations Aino and Fallow!!
Yesterday (7th Oct 07)
we heard that Mossbawnhill She's Eleqtric At Salatini (Ellie) was 2nd in a very strong MLB class at SYWC Ch Show, the judge was Barbara Illingsworth-Anderson (Birkonbrae..UK) ...WELL DONE!! Nik & Ells!
We are thrilled to learn that Mossbawnhill Dream On (Fallow) took her first CC!! at Oulu Finland Ch Show on Saturday 6th Oct 07 under Judge Laura Cox (Ire),as she is still only a just a puppy - 11mths old - we think this is a great result, she was also BOS. She is owner handled by Aino Makela, and we would like to say a massive WELL DONE to you both and wish you all the very best and much success for your future shows and hope that her next CC is'nt too far away....below is a picture of her winning.
...Just got these results through from Darlington Ch show where we are thrilled to learn that under breed specialist Mrs Di Morgan (Meandi) Mossbawnhill Ltd Edition To Yialousa (Ash) has continued her winning ways and was owner handled to BEST PUPPY IN BREED by Anita Mixides and then was shortlisted in the Puppy Group! At the same show Mossbawnhill Supersonic At Yialousa (Beau) was VHC...he is also owned and handled by Anita and Mossbawnhill She's Eleqtric At Salatini (Ellie) was 3rd in Open Bitch, she is also owner handled but by Nikki Hunter. A huge CONGRATULATIONS from us to you all!!
We got these beautiful pictures sent to us today of Ash,taken at Richmond Ch Show by www.dewerstonephotography.co.uk where she won a big PGB class of 18 and then went on to win BP Bitch also under breed specialist Mr Dennis Mayger from the UK,his kennel name is "Woolsocks" - Ash is only 10 months old and therefore most of the other bitches in her class were much older than her...so a huge WELL DONE Anita & Ash!!!
We have a new Ch!!...Drift (the Basenji) took his last and crowning GS at Clonmel Int Ch Show under the breed specialist Mr Christian Jounanchicot from the famous "Out Of Africa" kennel in France,he will now be given a very well earned rest for a while.
We also did extremely well with the Whippets...doing "the double" TWICE and also taking a few reserve's along the way too.Badger now only needs another one GS to gain his title and both pups have three each already and Pebble also has two Grp wins under belt too..all this and she is only 10mths old!!! We are very proud of our little teams achievements in such a short time.
We have some great news...but with a slight twist to it!
On Sunday at Monkstown Int Ch Show Drift our Basenji got his seventh Green Star which under normal circumstances would make him a Champion!! BUT in the South of Ireland we are under FCI and one of their rules is...to become a Champion the dog must have seven Green Stars under seven different judges and the last Green Star must be attained when the dog is 15mths or older...unfortunately Drift is not 15mths until the 18th of this month,so still needs to gain another Green Star,we hope to "finish" him on the Munster Circuit in 2wks time.
