CUORDHA'S XCELLENT ADVENTURE

Sadly, we lost Oscar to cancer at the age of 6. He was a very special boy.
This is the e-mail I sent to our breed list after Oscar died.
"It is with great sadness that we said goodbye to our beloved Oscar this evening. He was our first Golden and our very special boy. It is because of him that three other Goldens and one rescued Lab now share our home. He was such a good boy we were sure a couple other dogs would be a great idea! That's just how good Oscar was. A great ambassador for the breed.
I still remember ever detail of the day we picked him up from his breeders. At one point on the drive home he wouldn't stay still in my arms, so we put him in the crate in the back seat. He looked at me and my husband as if to say "Now there's a couple of rookies if I ever saw them!" Maybe that's why he was such a good boy!
We had hoped to share many more years with Oscar but unfortunately lymphoma took him from us.
We have many special memories and he will be forever with us, in our hearts. Our adventure in Goldens will continue because of him.
Sleep well dear Oscar. You were such a good boy. We miss you dearly."
