Perhaps it is gladiolas or gladioluses?
Make your pick, it does don´t change their beauty
Well, I´ve always loved Gladioli and always bought cut flowers at the florist but, until I got my little garden, there has never been a place to plant them.
My first gladiolus was `nova lux´ witch was planted last year.
Then this year (2007) nine different varieties were planted.
Most are nice coloured widespread hybrids, but my plan is mainly to concentrate on the uncommon ones.
These are the ones that supposed to have bloomed.
Gladiolus `nova lux`
Gladiolus `priscilla´
Gladiolus `white prosperity´
Gladiolus `praha´
Gladiolus `plumtart´
Gladiolus `tradehorn´
Gladiolus `peter pears´
Gladiolus callianthus
Gladiolus papilio
Only G. papilio and G. `nova lux´ bloomed well. All the other were affected by trips! This means that only a few barely showed flowers and most didn’t even get the change.
The Net has some very good sites on how to manage trips, unfortunately I was too late, but I’ll be prepared for next year.
