  1. Can anybody sign up for a 30-day FREE Trial on SimpleSite?
    Yes. Anyone can sign up for the 30 day FREE Trial subscription.
    After that you can decide if you want to buy a SimpleSite subscription
    for a period of 3 months or 1 year.
     
  2. How much does a SimpleSite subscription cost?
    You can choose between several SimpleSite subscriptions for a period of 3 months or 1 year

    The subscription prices are as follows:

    3 months $20 / €20 / £20
    1 year $69 / €69 / £69
     
  3. What is included in my SimpleSite subscription?
    A SimpleSite subscription is a website with 40 webpages and photo albums in total. The website has room for a total of 300 photos and 10 video minutes, which you can distribute on the 40 webpages. You will have full functionality and full access to all of the great features of SimpleSite - including the many exciting themes and templates, guestbooks and photo features, (like speech bubbles etc.)
     
  4. What if I would like some more pages or photos on my website?
    You can always buy an extra package with 20 extra webpages, 200 extra photos and 20 extra videominutes for your website. But for most of our users the basic package is enough, because you can continuously delete and exchange pages, photos and videos on your SimpleSite website. If you want to the extra package for 20 extra pages, 200 extra photos and 20 extra videominutes, the price is only $ 16 / €16 / £16 for 1 year depending on the currency that you choose to pay in.
     
  5. I want to renew my subscription?

  6. What happens when my free trial subscription expires?
    If you have not purchased additional services during your trial period, your free trial subscription will automatically expire. You can then decide whether you wish to continue as a subscriber. If you do NOT wish to continue subscribing, your website will simply be shut down, meaning that none of your pages will be shown on the internet. However, we save your website for 3 months after your subscription expires, in case you wish to resume building it.
     
    If you would like to continue your subscription, simply log in and purchase the subscription you desire.
     
  7. What happens when my paid subscription expires?
    We usually take care of automatically renewing your site via SimpleSite Payment Service. If you do not wish to renew your subscription, you can request a refund from customer service within 14 days and simply delete your site.
     
    If we are unable to renew your subscription automatically, you will be notified via e-mail with instructions describing how you can make your renewal payment manually.
     
  8. How do I renew my subscription?
    Log in with your normal user name and password. Under the menu item "Your subscription", you can click "renew subscription" at any time and pay by credit card. You can also simply order a bill, which we will send to your home address via standard mail.
     
    If it shows that you are registered with SimpleSite Payment Service, this means that your subscription will automatically be renewed.
     
  9. What happens if I do not wish to renew my paid subscription?
    If you do not wish to renew your paid subscription, just log in to your site and click "Delete and close website". Then, all of the content on your site will be deleted and it will no longer be renewed.
     
    You can also write to customer service and inform them that you no longer want the site, after which we will delete your page and stop all future subscription renewal payments.
     
    If you were recently charged automatically via SimpleSite Payment Service and you do not wish to renew your subscription, please contact customer service.
     
  10. What happens if I do not wish to renew my paid subscription?
    If you do not wish to renew your paid subscription, just log in to your site and click "Delete and close website". Then, all of the content on your site will be deleted and it will no longer be renewed.
     
    You can also write to customer service and inform them that you no longer want the site, after which we will delete your page and stop all future subscription renewal payments.
     
    If you were recently charged automatically via SimpleSite Payment Service and you do not wish to renew your subscription, please contact customer service.
     
  11. What about the website name (domain name) and e-mail account?
    At SimpleSite, it is simple and easy to get your own, personalized website (a domain name).
     
    Your SimpleSite will be called www.yourname.com instead of www.simplesite.com/yourname. In addition, you can register up to 5 personal e-mail addresses with your own website name.

  12. How do I pay for a SimpleSite subscription?
    You can buy and pay for a SimpleSite subscription online at www.simplesite.com using most major credit card such as VISA, MasterCard or Eurocard. SimpleSite offers secure payment systems for safe online payments.
     
  13. I have paid, but my SimpleSite website is not online. Why?
    It is possible that we have not registered your payment yet. If your payment was processed without problems or error messages, and your SimpleSite is not online, then please contact the SimpleSite Customer Service as soon as possible by sending an email to customerservice@simplesite.com.

    We aim to respond to all emails within 24 hours. Please note that your SimpleSite website might have been closed by us, because it did not meet the requirements for content as described in our Terms & Conditions.

  14. Can I close and delete my website completely?
    Yes. You can cancel and delete your SimpleSite website anytime yourself. Just sign in with your username and password. On the right of your subscription page, you will find a yellow box with a red button called "Delete website." Click on this button and your SimpleSite website will be closed and deleted immediately.
     
  15. My website is not online anymore. Why?
    It is possible that you have not renewed your subscription, OR we have not registered your payment yet. If you have renewed your subscription, and if you have paid more than 24 hours ago, then please contact SimpleSite customer service by sending an email to customerservice@simplesite.com.
     
  16. How long before the expiry date of my subscription do I have to renew my subscription?
    You can sign in and check the status of your subscription anytime. You can also see how many days you have left. We recommend that you renew your subscription at the latest 24 hours before the current subscription expires. The new subscription period will be added to the number of days that you have left on your current subscription.
     
  17. What happens if I pay too late?
    Then your website will be closed after the expiry date of your subscription. But for 90 days after your website was closed, you will still be able to sign in and see your webpages using the SiteEditor, and you will still be able to buy a new subscription period, so that your website can be re-activated and available online again. This is possible because we will save your entire website for 90 days after the expiry date, so that you can reactivate your website again, if you sign in and renew your SimpleSite subscription within a 90-day period.
     
  18. I have received a SimpleSite Gift Certificate. How do I redeem it?
    If you have received a SimpleSite gft certificate and want to use it to make your new website, then click on this link and follow the instructions:

  19. Can I renew a current subscription with a gift certificate?
    Yes. But only if the SimpleSite Gift certificate that you have received has this option on it. If it does, then you can sign in with your username and password and and in the "Shop & Gifts" section, you will find a button marked "Renew with gift certificate." Click on this button and then enter the number or codeword from your gift certificate.

Questions about general use of SimpleSite.

  1. Can anyone see my SimpleSite website?
    Yes and no. There is NO password protection of your website. This means that everyone, that has received an email invitation to visit your website, will be able to see it. So in general it will mostly be people who know the link address of your website, who will be able to find your website. But we recommend that you always consider carefully what you put on your webpages. Try to avoid putting anything online, that is confidential, offensive or unsuitable for public viewing, because it might be possible for others to find your page using search engines like Google.com or Yahoo.com, which are like directories of websites.
     
  2. Does SimpleSite save my photos?
    Yes we do. But we save them in a different size and format than the photos that you have on your PC. We make the photos "smaller" in order to keep the download time as fast as possible for your visitors.

     This means that you should not consider SimpleSite as a place where you can store your photos and then delete them on your own PC. SimpleSite is a place where you can "SHOW" your photos, not "STORE" them.

    You could say, that the photos that you have on your PC as your "originals," almost like the "negatives" that you used to get from the photo developer shop. And you could say that the photos on your SimpleSite website are your "prints." So if anything happens to your SimpleSite website, then you will still have the original "negatives" on your PC
     
  3. Will there be advertising on my website?
    No. There are no ads, pop-up boxes or sponsorships on your website. That is why we charge a small annual fee for using SimpleSite.
     
  4. Why do I have to pay to keep my SimpleSite website after my free trial period expires?
    We have decided that websites made with SimpleSite should not have any advertising, pop-up boxes or sponsorships.  That is why we charge a small annual fee for using SimpleSite.
     
  5. I have not received the SimpleSite newsletter? Why is that?
    Please check that your email address is valid and correct. You can do this by signing in and clicking on the button called "Your subscription." On your subscription page you can see and edit all the information that we received when you registered with SimpleSite.com.
     
  6. Can I make my own templates for my SimpleSite website?
    No, at present this is not possible. You can only use the templates that SimpleSite.com offers you. However we might be able to offer this feature sometime in the future.
     
  7. I have forgotten my password? What do I do?
    We will email you your password, if you give us your username. Click here to receive your password by email.
     
  8. What is, or what will be my website address on the Internet?
    When you sign up for a SimpleSite website, we ask you to provide us with a usernameand a password. The username is also the name of your website.
     
    For example. If you choose the username, Caulfields, then your
    website address will be www.simplesite.com/caulfields
     
  9. If I buy more than one SimpleSite website, will I get a discount?
    No. The subscription fee is quite modest and we can not offer any discounts.
     
  10. Can I change the name of my SimpleSite website?
    Yes. You can change the name of your SimpleSite website. For example you can change from www.simplesite.com/caulfields to www.simplesite.com/jones
     
    Remember if you change your website name, then the new name will also be your new username, which you use to sign in. You do it under "Your subscription" when you are logged in.
     
  11. I want to cancel my subscription and delete my SimpleSite website,
    so that no-one can see it! How do I do that?

    You can cancel and delete your SimpleSite website anytime yourself. Just sign in with your username and password. Click on "Your subscription" to go to your subscription page. Then click on "Cancel subscription and delete your website." Please note that we do not refund the remaining period or amount of your subscription.
     
  12. Can I change the size of my photos?
    No. The size of your photos is automatically set by the webpage template that you have chosen.
     
  13. Can I edit and delete entries in my guestbook?
    Yes. Sign in to SimpleSite.com and click on the "Edit" button for your Guestbook. Then you can see all the entries in your guestbook, and you can delete any unwanted entries.
     
  14. How do I submit my SimpleSite website to Internet search engines, like Google.com and Yahoo.com?
    You can find information about how to submit to search engines by reading our Guide to  search engines. To find the guide, sign in to your website like you normally do and then click on "Your Visits" at the top of the menu. 
     
  15. Can I use my SimpleSite website for commercial purposes?
    Yes! You are allowed to use your SimpleSite for commercial purposes as long as the actual content of your pages complies with our general Terms & Conditions. It is not permitted to resell SimpleSite websites or SimpleSite website names to others.
