A GUIDE TO PUTTING YOUR AFFAIRS IN ORDER.

Many members of the veteran community are reaching a stage in life in which they may be considering the impact that bereavement could have on their loved ones.

In particular,they may be thinking about what they can do now to assist their loved ones manage such an event in the future.

The Department of Veterans' Affairs has published a booklet aptly titled Planning Ahead which has been compiled with the assistance of many ex-service organisations,the Public Trustee's Office,the Law Society of New South Wales,Funeral Directors, and the Australian Pensioners and Superannuants Federation.

Living Independently in your own home
Assistance in the provision of care
When a death occurs
Bereavement payments and pensions
Coping with bereavement
Reviewing financial arrangements and your ongoing needs

There is also reference sections outlining Help from the Department of Veteran's Affairs,Help from ex-service organisations and Things to discuss with your family.
