Newsletter
Hello and welcome to the second newsletter for the parish of
St.
Cecilia
.
Peace and
Joy
to all who read.
Throughout the summer St. Cecilia’s has been involved in small projects, one of these being ‘Faith links’ the project will be holding a festival of Faith, Spirituality, Philosophy and Religion, called ‘Harmony’ in the summer of 2008, the project hopes that this will be interactive, involving music, drama arts and really engaging people.
It has been great for me to be involved in such a project and I have learnt so much from talking to others about their faiths.
Isn’t it great that no matter what we believe, how we worship what we wear. A group of people can come together from all different beliefs and faiths and share a time of fellowship together.
Interaction between all beliefs and faiths, I believe is the way forward in this day and age. Its all to easy to become blinkered in ‘our’ way of doing things that we can at times forget that we have so much to learn from others.
God is Love
Everywhere we go, God goes, because God has joined Himself to us by the Spirit, but we must be careful not to think that all we say, do, or think, is of God.
If we are honest we do not often experience the control and love of God’s Spirit in our lives. We are often unkind and selfish in our deeds and in what we say or think. God made us so that we could enjoy the company the life, of Gods own self, with one another.
When we feel genuine love, joy, peace, kindness, gentleness, patience, goodness and self control within our hearts and minds, this is a reflection of God’s own nature within us.
