WELCOME!    This website will introduce you to our wonderful Karelian Beardogs, Rebel's Pikku Lummekukka (Kukka),  Bjornehuset's Lasse ( ILO),  Runningbeardog's Summer Sun, Kesa, and Runningbeardog's Brave Heart, Sydan, both from our own breeding.
Known for their independence, intelligence,  keen hunting and tracking ability and loyalty to their owner, the KBD originated in Finland. During the Finnish/Russian war they were used as scouts to scent out Russian troops, and were threatened with extinction as they were killed by snipers.  It is said that at one time less than 40 remained, and they are still considered a rare breed today.
Our KBD's are members of our family and protectors both at home, and on the trail.
Please scroll down to meet them, and read more on our pages and links to learn more about the KBD!
Come on in for a visit!!
