I quickly grabbed the camera as I ran out of the door to see what the dogs were barking at. My lucky day! Just on the perimeter of the radio fence, this Sharp Tailed Grouse was picking away at the exposed leaves looking for bugs. It's amazing because he wasn't really afraid of me or the dogs (somehow he knew they couldn't get him?) and I followed him around for 15-20 minutes and managed to get some pretty good shots. He didn't appear to be alarmed at all about the barking dogs.....just kept pecking away and would look at me once in awhile, but wasn't concerned in the least that I was there. What a beautiful bird!
