Well, it's the beginning of Week 3! Mr. Blue and Miss Yellow are now two weeks old, Miss Green is 16 days old and Miss Red is 12 days old. It's a little tricky keeping track of where each of those pups are in the time frame when it comes to opening eyes and starting to hear. I do know the three bigger pups DO have their eyes open, can see the world around them to some extent and have sometimes mistaken their stuffed toys for siblings or Mom! I believe Miss Green is just starting to hear a bit as she startled when I clapped my hands very loudly today. They are all very good at getting up on their legs and getting around the box, especially when Mom comes in to clean up. Miss Red may not be up on her legs all the way yet, but she sure can keep up with the big kids! The laundry basket is getting a bit small for them now and Mr. Blue and Miss Yellow are always trying to get out of it and have almost made it a couple of times.
Miss Green and Miss Yellow are almost latching on to Mom's milk bar when she's standing up but can't quite reach. It's very close. But they are trying hard! Mr. Blue thinks it's better to use his friends as a stepstool to try to get at the mild bar and is almost there, too. They are getting much more fun to watch now, not just being "potatoes" as Auntie Gayle calls them. It's also nice because Tango is still doing all the clean up, so makes my job much easier!
Tango has taken to staying out of the box at times now and likes to lay in the rocking chair to watch over things but not be too close. She is also enjoying getting out to do a bit of training, mostly utility stuff, and taking a short walk away from the babies. The time seems to go slowly day by day, but it's hard for me to believe that they are already two weeks old!
Mid week - Update! Saturday, December 13, 2008. Miss Yellow made it out of the whelping box today while Tango was standing outside the box. That meant they got to hang out in the bathroom hallway while the box was being cleaned. So their first trip away from home! Yesterday, the teakettle whistled and the pups sang right along with it. We are going to try to get a video of it to put up soon. They are also really getting into playing with each other and the toys and are so much fun to watch. Have fun!
Randy will post some more pics this weekend when he has a chance.

When all else fails, take a nap!
Zach says Mr. Blue likes him!
Alexis and Miss Yellow (but don't tell her Alexis liked Miss Red, too!)
Miss Green is almost too big for the triangle, but she made it through.
I'll be good, I promise!
Can I come out, please, pretty please, pretty pretty please?
Our first attempt at aerial refueling! Miss Green was the first, followed quickly by Mr. Blue and Miss Yellow. Miss Red won't be far behind.
Cindy Jones visiting Miss Green on Saturday, December 13. Miss Green is 18 days old here. She has a beautiful head and is starting to get some waves in her coat over her shoulders. She is also the puppy who likes to talk about everything!
Ahhh, love!
Grandma McKinney putting Mr. Blue to sleep.
Fuzzy, flat toys are the best for snoozing on. And these colors work so well for me!
See, I'm cute, I told you I was cute, aren't I cute? Miss Green
Nothing like a pig rail for a pillow....
Did you brush your teeth today? Mom told us to be sure to brush our teeth every day!
