Shadow Chasers of The Big Bend is a small but dedicated group of 50 plus members who are from the North Florida area. We come from all walks of life and no prejudice will be tolerated. Our members have each traveled down different avenues in their daily lives and yet we have each ended up on the same road…the road leading to the unknown. Have you ever felt as though someone was in the room with you or felt a touch or noticed a particular smell but no one was there? Have you noticed strange electrical occurrences happening within your home? Does it seem as though you’ve been misplacing important items or papers lately? With advanced training SCBB has established an Investigation Team that can assist you. SCBB’s team is discreet so be assured that your privacy will be protected at all times. All information will be kept totally confidential unless a release of information has been signed by you. If you feel that you are having some type of unwelcomed paranormal activity within your home we will be glad to assist you and attempt to find an answer for you. *PLEASE NOTE: There will be no charge for SCBB’s Investigations. However, if long distance travel is involved there may be a charge for expenses such as fuel, hotels and meals. We will make every attempt to keep this to a minimum due to the fact that we gladly provide this to the public as a service.

About Sheila and Carol
Both Sheila and Carol are wives, mothers and grandmothers which keeps them busy by day but night time is another story. In the evenings they turn in their spatulars and aprons for cameras, thermoscaners, EMF detectors, audio and video equipment. They are always trying to prove or disprove the existance of paranormal activity in almost any location for instance a private home, business or cemetery. They have both been certified as Paranormal Investigators and have since stayed busy with this night time activity. Paranormal Experiences:
There have been many paranormal experiences but one of my favorites took place at Poor Spot Cemetery. I was standing by my husband, Mitch, and it was so dark that night that you literally could not see your hand in front of your face. While quietly standing there I felt what I thought was a hand tickling my belly! I laughed since I thought Mitch had tried to tweak me on my backside and was confused as to which direction I was facing. I laughed out loud and said, "Mitchell, that was my belly!"…Suddenly I hear him answer me from ACROSS the graveyard! He was no where near me when this happened! There have been many reports of seeing children playing in the graveyard so I again had to laugh when I realized that one of the many children buried at Poor Spot possibly had been trying to get my attention…and they did!!
Why are you interested in the Paranormal?
Why Not? Ever since I was a very young child, I had what is known to be a "vivid" imagination. The thing is, what I had told my parents that I had seen …was things that I really did see! I knew "things" were around me all the time. Eventually as a child, you begin to think as the adults tell you to think so you put the "vivid imagination" away and start convincing yourself that it’s impossible for these things to happen. I can’t remember life without paranormal activity taking place around me. I’ve never known my life to be any different so, when I found out that there were "groups" of people that they called ghost hunters, I was ready to dive right in! That was only the beginning of trying to learn everything I could and then some about the entire field of paranormal investigating. After SCBB was established I began to search out classes and began to get involved with field training and the studies of the paranormal. I then had to complete a series of tests to gain certification in the Paranormal Investigations field.
Rewards:
My hopes and dreams are to basically help others that may be having paranormal experiences and activity but they don’t know how to deal with it. SCBB’s Investigation Team is geared towards helping others and that’s what makes this group click together so well. Oh sure, if I dream real big, I could easily picture us in a TV show such as "TAPS" and doing nothing more than investigating the paranormal for the rest of our lives. But that’s just a big dream. For now, I am just happy to Investigate and Educate. I want to teach others how to "hunt" and to help them find answers and then move on from one investigation to the next, as time allows.

Paranormal Experiences:
The very first experience that I remember having was when I was 7 years old. My friend Sandy and I were walking on a busy city street on our way home from school. As we walked I saw ahead of us an old man and I had this feeling of total panic and I told Sandy that I was afraid of the man and wanted to cross the street. She laughed at me and refused. We kept walking and I again told her that I wanted to cross the street and that the man was going to hurt me. I remember that she really laughed at me this time. Just as we got even with the man he stepped around Sandy, never touching her, and put his arm around my neck and put a knife to my throat. Sandy ran off and I was left standing there with this strange man, knowing without a doubt in my mind that he was going to hurt me. About that time a police car drove by and the man let go of me and ran off. Later the man was caught and sent to prison. I was a lucky little girl that day and I have no doubt that this was one of my earliest premonitions.
Why are you interested in the paranormal?
Most of my life I’ve had the ability to have dreams and then years down the road these dreams have come true. I’ve had dreams of people I’ve never met and places that I’ve never been to, only to meet these same people years later or find myself in a place that I had only dreamed of. I mentioned this to a friend one day and her response was that I was having a type of physic experience. I’ve since discovered that most people have at one time or another had an unusual occurrence in their lives but refuse to talk about it for fear of ridicule. I have a strong belief that the paranormal is a normal occurrence in our daily lives and we’ve only scratch the surface.
Rewards:
I would like to see acceptance in the world. What I’m saying is that you don’t have to believe but please respect my right to believe. The paranormal is an unproven science but I feel that there will be a day when we will have to re-evaluate our way of thinking and then be able to say anything is possible.

Paranormal Experiences:
I never really paid a lot of attention to things that go bump in the night until my wife got me involved in ghost hunting. But now, I can fully appreciate the tid bits she has shared with me over the years about our home and just how active it really is. I find myself hanging out on the porch or in the house and watch and listen while the doors open and close, and seeing a glimpse of what Sheila calls "shadow people" that frequent the house. I now take notice of the little things. Just yesterday I felt someone playing with my hair! I was on the porch and someone just kept flicking my hair with their fingers!
Why are you interested in the Paranormal?
I dove in head first when my wife announced that she wanted to create a group for people that had the same interests as her…Ghost Hunting! I was ready to support her and headed out to the graveyard to check it out. The very first picture I ever took was of a local church. The picture was taken at night and I caught my one and only apparition in the photo! I’ve been hooked ever since!
Rewards:
Making new friends that have the same curiosities that I’ve had over the years. I also enjoy visiting with all of our friends as often as we can…and catching the prize video’s or pictures that make non believers scratch their heads!

Paranormal Experiences:
My wife and I had taken some potential new members out to a local cemetery. We were explaining the standard procedures of ghost hunting when to our surprise we watch an apparition form right in front of us! My wife calmly spoke and said, "Buddy". I immediately told her that I could see it. It then moved off slowly to the left of us and disappeared.
Why are you interested in the paranormal?
Anything regarding the unknown fascinates me. Paranormal, time travel, past life experiences are all included in my desire to understand the unknown.

My hope is that at some point in my lifetime there may be some answers discovered regarding some of these possible paranormal occurrences.

Paranormal Experiences:
I have only had one physical experience. I was lying on my back and had someone/something push the bottom of my foot quite aggressively. I have had a flashlight not fall from our closet shelf but launched towards the middle of our bedroom on two separate occasions. One of our dogs stares and/or barks at the closet periodically.
Why the Paranormal:
I don’t know why other than the unknown interests me.
Rewards:
The only reward I seek is knowledge. I would like to learn as much about spirit activity and the afterlife as possible

Paranormal experiences:
The first time I went on a ghost hunt I went with some friends. It was fun trip but we quickly realized that were into something that we didn’t know about so we contacted SCBB. I’ve been on many ghost hunts since that first time. I went to a place called Poor Spot for my 3rd hunt and I saw what appeared to be 2 forms of spirit energy …maybe ghosts??? It was a really cool experience but at the same time a little scary! I’ve seen many things since that night and hopefully will see more in the future!
Why the paranormal:
I live in a small town and there isn’t a lot to do so. Since I have always loved ghost stories and the paranormal, I decided to find out for myself about ghosts! I love knowing that I can see and feel spirits/energy. I know that most people don’t believe in ghosts but I know what I see. I also connect my love of history of the land and I incorporate it into our ghost hunting and try to learn why ghosts are here.
Rewards: My reward is the knowledge that I can and have learned more about ghost hunting and the paranormal than the average person.

Experiences: During our honeymoon in Greece on our 4th night there we stayed at a real old hotel. All I will say is that we got so cold in the middle of night and woke up at the same time and said…."did you feel that?" and what we felt was someone or something sit at the foot of the bed!! Also in that same room I took pictures and we had orbs!! It’s sometimes scary but sometimes so scary that it becomes fun.
Why the Paranormal? We stated paranormal investigating the summer of 2006 with the Greystone building in Perry, Florida. Ever since then we have been hooked. We visited Greystone a total of 3 times which became great outings. Ever since our 1st visit we never did really believe in paranormal activity. Well now I can say we do. Every time we take pictures we look at them much closer now.
Our Reward: Curiosity and finding answers to the unknown. Always ready to make it to another event soon!!!!
