Investigations

An investigation is performed in a professional manner in a controlled setting. The Team works in pairs and they are assigned duties and assigned a position within the building or the grounds so that they can document and gather data which will be turned into our Technical Crew at the end of the night. The team will be looking for any type of paranormal activity or anomaly at the investigation site. We try to accomplish this with Audio, Video, Video Monitor, Themoscaners, Electro Magnetic Field Detectors and Camera’s. All data is gathered after the conclusion of the investigation to be analyzed in order to come to a final determination and a report will be composed from this data. Ghost Hunt Report

February 16, 2008

Historic Site and Cemetery
Perry, Florida

Historic Site Location
Arrival Time: 9:30 p.m.

NOTE

: This was classified as a Ghost Hunt and not an Investigation. All club members and their guests were welcome to this event.

Equipment Used: Electromagnetic Field Detectors, Thermoscaner, Digital Cameras, and Audio Recorders with external microphones.

Before arriving at the hunt area the members and guests were provided with print outs of the history of the site. The group arrived at historic area and we gathered and put on our shield of protection. Upon entering the site, JT Davis gave the group a verbal briefing of the history of the area and they did a walk through and hazard areas were pointed out to the group.

The group broke up into smaller groups and started exploring the area. There seemed to be a lot of activity and the members were enjoying themselves and were capturing some interesting pictures. A few of the members were attracted to the NW corner of the site. Carol was sitting near the fountain area and was attempting to capture an EVP when she saw a shadow darting from the NE to the NW corner. She made a note of this and it is documented on the audiotape. Before she could advise anyone Katherine approached her and advised her that she had seen a woman in a white hat in the same area. She further described the woman as being in her mid 20’s and said that she appeared to be very busy with something. She attempted to speak to the woman and ask her name and the woman said her name was Charlotte and that she was terribly busy and kept wringing her hands. Katherine said that the woman was dressed like a nurse from the early 1900’s. She also mentioned "red velvet". When she was asked about this, she said it was in a room that was also in this same area. All of this was reported to Sheila and was noted. Because of all of these incidents occurring in the same area it was decided by Sheila and Carol that we should have a "Dead Time" in the NW corner to try to make contact with Charlotte.

10:10 p.m.

Dead Time Participants: Sheila, Carol, Jamie, Katherine, Jolene and J.T.

*Tyson and Bobby performed readings, recordings and took pictures. Sheila and Carol also placed recorders with external microphones in the center of the participants.

Carol led the dead time asking that if there was anyone there to please show themselves. There were several times during the dead time that we felt that we were getting some response but because of the dry limbs and other noises it was difficult to determine. Carol started talking directly to Charlotte. She asks her to please make herself visible to them. At that time Sheila reported seeing an orb shoot through. A few minutes later JT also advised that he sited an orb. Sheila, JT, Carol and Katherine each advised that they heard something coming from the NE corner. Carol stated that she heard it twice. Katherine advised that she could hear the woman and then Katherine became emotional and pointed out where Charlotte was standing which was in the NE corner at that time. The other members made attempts to communicate with Charlotte with little or no success. Carol then told Charlotte to come out…step out from behind that tree and let us talk to her. There was still no response. She then told Charlotte that we would have to go since she wouldn’t talk to us and we stopped the session.

Conclusion:

Tyson advised Carol that he and Bobby were listening to the playback of the recording and he that heard someone say, "Can you see me". Upon listening to the playback everyone in the group could hear a woman in a low whisper state, "can you see me". Upon further examination of the audiotape, this statement was said immediately after Carol had said, "step out from behind that tree", and then the EVP said, "can you see me now".

We then said a prayer of departure and left the area.

Cemetery Hunt

The group proceeded to the next location to continue their hunt. All of the same people were present and the same equipment was used. Buddy advised the group that the Thermoscanner was no longer operable. Battery replacement did not work so that is unexplained.

Weather conditions were basically the same with the exception of a slight humidity change.

We put on our shield of protection and then entered the cemetery. This is an extremely small cemetery so all members were visible at all times. Almost immediately, Katherine stated that something very sad had happened with the children in the cemetery. She became very emotional and she was advised to leave the area immediately. She did so and regained her composure and then again attempted to re-enter. She could still feel the grief but was able to handle the emotional aspect of it. Sheila and Carol also advised that they experienced a heavy disturbing feeling. This lasted only a short time. Everyone felt as though there were children present so again we decided to have a "dead time".

Sheila requested that we do this in the East Side of the cemetery since she had been experiencing some strong feelings in this area.

Dead Time Participants: Carol, Sheila, Katherine, Jolene, Kevin, Ceira and J.T.

*Again Tyson and Bobby remained outside of the circle and did the recording and readings during the dead time.

The group gathered in a circle and again Carol initiated the contact by asking that anyone present to make themselves known to us. There was no response. Katherine told the group there were several children surrounding us so we started talking to them. JT ask for one of their names and Katherine responded that she heard Patty. We ask Patty to come forward. We had no response to this. Katherine advised that the children were in a happy giggly mood and was singing. The group tried singing Ring Around The Rosie and there was still no response. There was very little activity so we stopped the session.

Conclusion:

Upon later review of the audiotapes we discovered that we captured several EVP’s. One of the more interesting EVP’s was heard to be singing along with us when we sang Ring Around The Rosie. It was a female voice in a soft whisper that sang above us and at times she would clearly get ahead of us while singing the song.

We said our departure prayer and exited the area.

This concludes the hunt of 02/16/08.

OVERALL SUMMARY:

We have since taken the time to listen to the audiotapes. To our surprise several of us captured numerous EVP’s from both hunt locations. We are unsure as to whether so much activity was due to the moon phase or the fact that we had a new member with us that seemed to be in tune with the spirit world. Another possibility that was discussed was the fact that the entire group seemed to be in an extremely jovial mood this night. Due to this possibility and the fact that we felt there were spirit children in our presence, this may have allowed them to communicate more comfortably with us. The fact remains that we will never have an answer to this question. I can say that this was one of the more enjoyable and productive nights that we’ve had.

Private Residence Investigation

Medart, Florida

Time: 7:30 p.m.
Weather: Calm and Clear
Temperature: 83 F.

Investigators Present: Carolyn, Buddy, Sheila, Mitch and Property Owner

Equipment:  5 Digital Cameras
                      Sony Camcorder with Tripod
                      Thermoscaner
                      Audio Recorder
                      Electromagnetic Field Detector 

A walk through of the residence was done and all equipment was prepared and set up for the investigation.

Notation: The property owner has advised us that she and her family have experienced several occurrences in the home. She spoke of what she calls her "bathroom buddy". She feels that her bathroom buddy rushes her when she is in her bathroom brushing her teeth. On one occasion her dog sat in front of the bathroom door and stared in for a very long time. One of her children refuses to sleep in their bedroom due to something bothering her.

8:00 p.m. -   Carol notes that she could hear someone calling her name.

8:07 p.m. -   Sheila reported that while cleaning the camcorder that it began to vibrate in her hand. The camera was not turned on at the time.

8:25 p.m. -    The cameras started having battery problems and they had to be replaced.

8:30 p.m. -   Near the trampoline, Buddy reported a 30 degree reading on thermascaner.

9:00 p.m. -   Mitch reported seeing an orb shoot over the property owners bed.

                     Bathroom temp 61 degrees and dropped to 58 degrees.  Buddy stayed in this area for approximately 15 minutes taking termoscaner readings. The readings were erratic with some extreme temperature drops. There seems to be a strong energy in this area.

9:15 p.m. -   Property owners dog starts barking continuously.  He wasn’t barking at us and there was nothing in the area that was visible that would agitate the dog.

9:25 p.m. -   Buddy got a 53 degree reading outside where the boats were parked.

9:45 p.m. -   Sheila reported that she was meditating with her hands placed on outside of boat and heard a "loud moan" from inside the cabin of the boat and then footsteps in the boat. She also could hear and feel waves splashing against the side of the boat. Note: Boat is on dry land. Carol tries the same process and she too advised that she could feel the boat moving from the waves. Three team members took photos in this area and all three got orbs in each picture.

10:45 p.m. -   Carol was sitting on the end of the property owners bed. Sheila was on the stairs when they both heard something fall, as in a domino effect crash sound. All present searched the area and nothing could be found.  Property owner advised that nothing was out of place. This sound came from the corner of the bedroom where the owner has stated that a lot of activity has been. 

Note: The video camera caught this noise on tape.

2:30 a.m. -   This investigation was concluded with no further incidence.

Investigation Summary

The property owner was very open and receptive to our investigating of her home. She participated as well with no incidents being reported. Upon observing some of her photo’s on the computer it was observed that she had captured a dog in one of the photos inside an orange thing in their back yard. She pulled out a picture and it was one of their deceased pets. The photo was very plain and appeared ghostly and indeed was NOT there.

When the team was viewing the videotape it was observed that there were a lot of orbs floating about throughout the night. We feel that many of these were dust orbs but we also feel that many of these were spirit orbs as well.

Upon viewing our photo’s we discovered that we had been using our night settings on our cameras, which was causing light distortions, flares and other abnormalities. This was the first time that we had attempted using the nighttime settings. It was unanimously decided that we would not do this again.

The team concluded that this home has indeed got some type of paranormal activity within it. The strongest presence seems to be in the master bedroom bathroom of the home. It doesn’t seem to of any negative type of energy but just wants to be acknowledged so we feel that the family is safe at this time.

The property owners were satisfied and please with the outcome of the investigation.

St. Francis Inn Bed and Breakfast

St. Augustine, Florida

Time: 2:20 p.m.
Weather: Rain, Cloudy, Overcast

Investigators Present: Sheila Baranowski, Mitch Baranowski, Buddy Albritton, Carolyn Albritton, Fabianne Register.

 Guests: Jim and Crystal Hatcher

Equipment:      4 - digital cameras
                          1 - camcorder (night vision)
                          1 - sensored 35 mm camera
                          1 - 35 mm camera
                          1 - Thermoscaner

All equipment was set up and placed in the appropriate places. Fabianne provided slave music since this building had previously been known as the "Slave Quarters".

10:00  p.m.  -    Investigation begins

10:05 p.m. -   1^st floor landing Sheila advised that she was getting a strong smell  of  Garlic.

10:15 p.m. -   Jim advised that he felt a strong presence by the cottage living room door.

Jim Hatcher advised Sheila and Carol that he felt strongly that something would happen around 2 - 2:30 a.m. and for us to be aware. This was noted.

10:45 p.m. -    Buddy and Mitch alerted Sheila and Carol that something was going on inside of the Inn. We observed from outside through the window. There was a young boy who seemed intent on following something or someone down the stairs into the dining area but there was nobody there. We let ourselves in to see if the boy was okay. The boys name was Alex. He advised us that he was waken by a voice and then saw a man in a suit w/ suspenders standing beside his bed. He also advised us that there was a woman in the overlook room that had been crying. Carol went to the second floor sitting area to observe. After a few minutes she could hear a woman crying. As she started up the staircase the crying stopped. Then again it started. She proceeded to the third floor all the while hearing a woman’s cries but when she got to the third floor it again stopped. It had been very faint and extremely mournful. She couldn’t determine where it had came from. All was quiet so she returned to the first floor with no explanation of this occurrence. Alex’s mother came down and confirmed that the child had experienced sitings since the early age of 2 years. While the mother was talking to Sheila, Carol sensed that there was a strong energy with them. She didn’t want to upset the boy so she stepped away only to realize that the boy had followed her into the Parlor area. Suddenly a very strong energy passed through her body. The boy looked at Carol and said, "you felt it too didn’t you?" She again reassured him that they were okay. The mother advised the team that they were staying in Lily’s Room. This is believed to be the most haunted room in the Inn. We calmed and reassured the boy and his mother until they were comfortable and then departed for our cottage.

1:35 a.m. -   We checked on the camcorder and discovered that all of the settings had been changed. Note: There had been special care in setting the camcorder up previously in preparation of the Investigation. Sheila made the necessary corrections and left the room.

1:45 a.m. -   Mitch, Buddy and Fabianne were stationed in the downstairs area.
Carol and Sheila were stationed in the upstairs bedroom to the right of the staircase. The camcorder was in the bedroom to the left of the staircase and it was noted that the camcorder would be picking up the flashes from our cameras.

2:30 a.m. -   Sheila and Carol hear a loud scream. No one else in the cottage heard the scream. It sounded like it was coming from the Inn and they went to investigate with Buddy accompanying them. As they exited the cottage Buddy reported hearing a scream as he went through the door. Carol and Sheila didn’t hear this scream this time. We tried to investigate but we found nothing to explain this.

3:30 a.m. -   Sheila, Carol and Fabianne went outside for a break when they reported hearing something like a chair being dragged across a wooden floor. We found nothing to explain this.

4:45 a.m. -   There had been no activity for nearly an hour so Mitch, Sheila and Carol explored the outside area of several blocks within walking distance.

6:00 a.m. - Investigation was ended.

About St. Francis Inn:
         There are several stories about St. Francis Inn. The most well known "haunted" room in the Inn belonged to a young black slave girl, Lilies room. A young white soldier who was the nephew to the man that owned the Inn fell in love with Lily and she became with child. One version is that Lily was sent away to Georgia to have the child. Another was that the nephew was sent away by his family so Lily hung herself in her room. The other version is that the young soldier came back to her and they hung themselves together. Nothing has been confirmed and more than likely it is rumor only.

Investigation Summary

We followed normal procedures and did our preparations for the Investigation. We found it very interesting that Jim Hatcher predicted that there would be some type of activity at 2 – 2:30 a.m. and that is when the screams began. We were not able to find out what this was so we are unable to come up with an answer. The next morning we questioned several guests and staff but no one heard the screams. This seemed strange since this was a "loud" scream. We also discovered that the Landing Room had been rented out for the night so that confirmed that the room had been occupied and there could have possibly been someone in that room crying the night before. All members of the team felt that there is definitely spiritual activity in the cottage and the Inn. We feel that this was confirmed by the boys remark to Carol when she too had felt the strong surge of energy pass through her body and he stated, "you feel it too don’t you". Before the investigation we had talked to some of the staff and they had advised us that several of the guests that had stayed in Lilies room had told them about a man appearing before them. This is the same experience that the boy, Alex, spoke of. One of the staff members spoke of a young soldier, leaning against a pole or wall with his arms crossed as though watching them in different areas of the building on more than one occasion. We again met the young boy and his mother at breakfast and asked them if they would like to speak to a Paranormal Counselor and they both responded yes. Jim Hatcher was called in to counsel with the family. The boy and his mother were please with the outcome.
