We have now finished our Orangery and Vinery. See the picture gallery for a sneak preview. The plants are being added and now we can watch them grow.

We had an article published in Herefordshire Life Magazine (January edition) about Planting a Vineyard, large or small, in this Country.

There are still places on the Planting Vines Talk so reserve your place now.

Look forward to seeing you.

Catherine

Dear Helen

Thank you for your message.

The thumb waterier is for watering plants. To use fill up in a bucket or bowl of water. Put your thumb over the top whilst still in the water and keep it there to hold the water in. When you lift your thumb it releases the water which streams out like a shower over your plants.

It is based on a traditional Victorian design. Ours is crafted from specially spun copper which will weather beautifully as you use it. It will make a beautiful original present.

Kind Regards, Catherine

Could you tell me what a copper thumb waterer is?

Dear Claire

Thank you for your question. The lettuce forcer is mainly used for protection, i.e. frost or rabbits but it is also used for keeping your lettuces white, it is particularly good for endive.

Another great use for it is as a cover for cheese.

Kind Regards

Catherine

I noticed in your shop book that you have a lettuce forcer for sale. Could you explain what it is for me.

Thank you

Thank you so much for giving such a fascinating and interesting talk last Wednesday, everyone was very impressed with your story of how you built the garden for Chelsea. I really look forward to hearing more about your ventures in the future.

That truly was a wonderful evening on Wednesday a perfect compliment was that Molly said that 'very often towards the end of other events she had attended you can hear people shuffling on thier chairs, but not this time.' People seemed to enjoy and appreciate very much the work that went in to the event. Thank you
