Obstetricians/GPs on the Peninsula who support Low Intervention Birthing

Supportive Obstetricians

Bays O & G Group :

    Dr Keith How
Dr Doug Johnson
Suite 8, The Bays Consulting Suite.
262 Main St,
Mornington
p: 59758877

You can choose to see Keith or Doug for your prenatal care but still Birth at Home. They are in no way involved with your care at home and don't book you as a private patient.
They are however both very supportive of low intervention birth.

NO Dr or OB on the Peninsula is openly SUPPORTIVE OF BIRTH AT HOME, these particular 2 Drs just understand it's what some women want.

They are part of a group practice at The Bays Hospital of 4 Obstetricians. The Bays  unfortunately will not accept back-up bookings for Home Birth Transfer.
You need to book at Frankston Hospital as a Public client in case of transfer .

If you want to seriously explore the option of Vaginal Birth after Caesarean then make an appointment to see Dr Keith How.
Keith is by far the most suppportive & liberal minded of the local OBs.

Doug has largely retired from Private Obstetric Practice & no longer books any Private Patients.

They provide pre-natal care & will schedule longer appointments by request if you feel there are issues you would like some time to discuss.

The pink Drs have a special interest in helping women who may be concerned about post-natal depression.
