The past and the present

I started showing dogs in 1976, in Sydney Australia, where I bought my first Irish Setter. She provided a great insight into the dog showing world, as well as being a great mother to my first litter. Soon afterwards I moved to Victoria and purchased an English Setter who also was a brilliant show dog. In 1986 I purchased my first Irish Terrier who provided many years of fun for myself and my eldest daughter. It was my daughter who convinced me into trying new breeds and in 1988 she bought an Irish Water Spaniel. While both these breeds provided us with huge rewards for various reasons we decided that they were not really 'for us'.
After many years of trying to convince me to buy a saluki eventually  in 1998 I purchased our first Saluki from Baghdad Kennels in Sydney, Australia.

Aust. Ch Baghdad Extravagence provided a good introduction to the breed ensuring that we were all aware of the good and bad points of owning sighthounds! Extra passed away quietly in 2004.

In 2003 I took up an offer to work in Ireland for 12 months and Noah and I took off on a year long 'vacation'. After only 6 months it became obvious that Ireland was where I was meant to be so the process of remaining here began.
My four eldest children all live in Australia with my youngest having spent a considerible time here in the last 6 years and deciding to join me permanently in mid 2008.

One of the advantages of living in Europe has been the ability to quench my thirst for travel. The latest adventure being the combining of my two loves -dog showing and travel - to drive from Ireland to Hungary, taking in 5 shows in the process.

Please flick through my photo album, which contains some old photos of my dogs ad some newer ones of the travels.

Enjoy, Lynda
