2009 was the year that really put ULMARRA salukis on the map with the Irish show scene.
Four ULMARRA bred and two ULMARRA owned Salukis featured in the winners Ring during the year with the highlights being:
Euro Show - Dublin
Aust/Ir/Int Ch Padtheway Notorious - Green Star Dog & CACIB and his daughter
Ir/Int Ch Ulmarra Habibi - Green Star bitch & CACIB and BOB

The four ULMARRA's also competed in the breeders stakes and were placed third. As this was our first saluki litter i was a very proud owner/breeder.

U. Ibriiz was the Celtic Winner for 2009 and his sister U. Shaqira the bitch Celtic Winner and Best of Breed also taking Group 4.

By far the most successful during the year was U. Habibi (Yasmine) who had 6 group wins: 1 x first, 2 x 2nd, 3x 3rd and 1 x 4th. These wins have meant that she has qualified for Irish Dog of the Year.
U. Shaqira had 4 in group awards: 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th, similarly U. Salib (Jameel) had 4 in group wins:1st, 2 x 2nd and 3rd.

Not to be outdone, the new boy Aust Ch Baghdad Bronzed Aussie (Bundy)
also took 4 in group awards: 1 x 1st, 1x2nd and 2 x 4th
In addition to these Championship Show awards Bundy also had 2 Best in Group awards at Open Shows in Northern Ireland under UK Kennel Club Rules.
His big win was his BEST IN SHOW at the Derry Open Show.

With these results salukis were placed in 4th, 8th, 9th and 10th most successfull sighthounds inthe Irish Canine Press record of Top Dogs.

The above wins have meant that ULMARRA Salukis are once again 2nd most successful breeder in the Sighthound group, having also been placed 2nd in 2008.
